We camped at Whitestar campground on Twin Lakes which is located just south of Leadville.
The hike was very nice with good views of the Apostle Range. There was quite a bit of snow and gadders were handy but there was no need for snow shoes. Within half a mile of the summit we faced awful winds and darkening clouds and decided to turn around before reaching the summit.
